v1.3.0

2026-10-10

1.3.0 brings multi-video editing, GPX-only green-screen exports, and a more consistent editing and rendering workflow. Multi-video timeline • Import multiple MP4, MOV, or M4V videos into one project. Split, move, trim, and delete individual clips; double-click a video or GPX clip to snap it to the previous clip. • Cmd+B and Split now operate only on the selected video or GPX clip when the playhead is inside it. Clicking a clip selects it; clicking or dragging the time ruler moves the playhead. • Fixed preview flicker and black frames after moving or trimming video clips, including edits at fractional-second positions. • The ruler follows the first video clip as zero and displays negative time before it. Home returns to zero, and a new alignment button moves the video and GPX lanes to their respective zero starts. • More controlled zooming with clickable zoom buttons and adjusted slider, mouse-wheel, and pinch behavior. Split clips retain their exact positions at every zoom level. • Trimming past the playhead no longer changes the zoom, scroll position, or playhead time. New splits and trims keep clips at least one second long and respect source limits. • Compact 32pt icon buttons, a thin light-red selection outline, and uncluttered clip edges with resize cursors. Hover over a clip for one second to see its duration; hours appear only when needed. Overlay green-screen mode • Switch between Regular video composition and Overlay element-video export. Overlay renders widgets on a dark-green background from GPX data, without decoding source videos or including audio. • Choose 4K, 1080p, or 720p in the export dialog. Overlay preserves the project aspect ratio and portrait or landscape orientation; Free remains limited to 720p with a watermark. • Dedicated lower bitrate budgets for reusable element videos: at factor 1.00, 8 Mbps for 4K, 3 Mbps for 1080p, and 1.5 Mbps for 720p. Actual file size depends on the content. • Import a video or a track first. Switching modes preserves video edits and widget placement; Overlay can export without any video files. Canvas and widgets • The first imported video's display dimensions, including rotation, establish a fixed project canvas shared by Regular and Overlay. Deleting or moving video clips does not change that canvas. • Resizing the app window scales the entire preview consistently. Widget positions, sizes, labels, borders, and exported layout remain tied to the project canvas. • MAP and PATH sizes now range from 100 to 200 logical points, with drag boundaries accounting for GTA rings and compass badges. • Fixed MAP combined with Heart Rate or Heart Rate Graph being cropped during export. Widget opacity is now applied independently and only once, including text and the Free watermark. Export control and performance • Each resolution option shows an estimated output size. A per-export factor from 0.60 to 1.00 adjusts the video bitrate budget, with the estimate updating immediately; the factor is not an exact file-size ratio. • Regular exports start at timeline zero without blank time before the first video clip. Gaps between clips remain black and silent, while GPX and widgets keep their intended alignment. • OpenStreetMap frame prefetch overlaps map rendering with composition and encoding in both modes, using bounded memory. Background and minimized-window export support is retained. • PATH pre-renders its static background, route, and marker outline instead of redrawing them every frame. Long exports also avoid retaining every frame's parameters and all text images in memory. • Persistent map-capture errors now fail the export clearly instead of silently producing frozen or missing map frames. Reliability and project recovery • Fixed intermittent unwanted connections between imported tracks, and preserve separate segments within GPX and TCX files. Improved smoothing and interpolation for routes crossing the international date line. • Invalid coordinates, mixed missing timestamps, out-of-order timestamps, and unsupported durations are rejected with clearer errors. Tracks with no timestamps still use one-second spacing. • Fixed stale heart-rate ranges and curves after equal-length trims, and synchronized shared caches used by preview and export. • Clearing a project now restores its GPX source data as well as clips on Undo. Widget removal supports both Undo and Redo; late import results cannot enter a different project. • Improved PATH refresh when switching map providers, changing a token, editing route geometry, or removing all usable points. • Exporting cannot overwrite an input file, including aliases to the same file. Existing output files are replaced only after successful encoding; failure and cancellation preserve them. Quitting waits for export cleanup. • Project files and LastSession now retain multi-video edits, mode, export factor, canvas orientation, and fixed widget layout. Older project versions remain readable; newly saved v5 projects require 1.3.0 or later. Damaged project settings are validated before replacing the current session. This release is distributed through the website. Mac App Store distribution is not included.

v1.2.1

2026-09-29

Fix slow video exports when the app is minimized, hidden, or covered by other windows. OpenStreetMap rendering now continues normally for background exports and queued tasks.

v1.2.0

2026-07-31

New border styles for Map and GPS Path widgets: slim Default or GTA-style triple ring with a live compass badge; click a widget in the preview to select it, then press Delete to hide it (Cmd+Z to undo); OpenStreetMap exports now render the identical map as the preview.

v1.1.1

2026-05-20

Fix bugs.

v1.1.0

2026-05-20

New Heart Rate + Heart Rate Graph widgets; long GPX files (1+ hour, high-frequency GPS) no longer freeze; multiple widget flicker fixes in exports.

v1.0.5

2026-05-18

Fix bugs.

v1.0.4

2026-05-18

Toolbar shows current project filename; .g2v files no longer save Mapbox tokens (avoids leaking the API key when sharing).

v1.0.3

2026-05-18

Double-click .g2v project files in Finder to open them, with a dedicated document icon.

v1.0.2

2026-05-17

Test release to verify in-app update notification.

v1.0.1

2026-05-16

Initial public release with Stripe integration and license management

v1.0.0

2026-05-15

BETA release.
