Distribution channels
The website edition offers Stripe yearly subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime license. The Mac App Store edition is a free download with one optional Pro Lifetime purchase through Apple; it has no subscription or Stripe activation. Purchase and license information
For website purchases, Stripe processes your billing email and payment details; we do not receive your full payment-card details. Our Cloudflare backend stores your email, license key, Stripe customer ID and the purchase or subscription identifiers needed to verify and restore your license. Resend delivers license emails. Website activation and re-verification send your email, license key and an installation identifier, Mac name, macOS version and app version/build. Our license backend records this device information, verification times/counts and the request IP address to support licensing and investigate misuse. Managing a subscription uses your email and license key to open the corresponding Stripe customer portal. The Mac App Store edition obtains verified purchase entitlements directly through Apple StoreKit. It does not send your purchases to our Stripe license backend or require a gpx2video account, payment email or external license key.
Your media stays local
gpx2video does not upload or store your videos, complete GPX/TCX/IGC files, heart-rate samples, projects or exports on our servers. Editing and encoding run on your Mac. The app does not request your live device location. The app saves settings, project references and access bookmarks, the last session, map cache and export history locally so you can continue working. This is local storage, not a gpx2video cloud media service. Files and paths may be disclosed if you choose to share a project or send a support email. The main website uses self-hosted Umami for aggregate, cookieless traffic statistics. The app contains no gpx2video analytics SDK or advertising tracker; online map providers have their own request, billing and diagnostic data practices.
Online maps and source credits
MAP and PATH with Show Map request map tiles, styles, scripts and fonts directly from external services to render areas along your imported route. Tile URLs can reveal small geographic areas; providers receive your IP address and technical request information. This does not upload a complete track file, and we do not proxy or store these map requests on a gpx2video server. OSM rendering uses OpenFreeMap data from OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap, with MapLibre scripts served through a CDN. The website edition also retains a CARTO raster fallback; the App Store edition does not use that fallback. Optional Mapbox rendering uses your own token and Mapbox Streets. Mapbox receives necessary map-load/billing events and session identifiers; optional performance-metrics collection is disabled. Map data is used only for map display and local video composition, not by this app for advertising. Provider logs and identifiers remain subject to their own policies. Data retention
Website license and device records support activation, restoration and license administration. A refund or canceled subscription affects the matching entitlement; it does not necessarily delete all records or other valid purchases. Device records remain until deactivated or removed through license administration; administration audit records have a 90-day expiry. You may request access or deletion using the contact below, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations. Local media and project data remain under your control on your Mac. Apple, Stripe, map/CDN providers and website hosts manage records they receive under their own policies.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, or deletion of any personal data we hold by emailing us. We will respond within 14 days.
